2018 Canadian Open Sepak Takraw Championship

STAC is proud to announce that the 2018 Canadian Open Sepak Takraw Championship will be held in Toronto, ON. It will be a 1-day event on AUGUST 4th. We are very grateful for the GTA organizing committee that has been working to host this event in EASTERN CANADA for the first time in the history of the sport in Canada. Check out the Poster! POST EVENT UPDATE: Five Ontario teams and one team from Saskatchewan competed in a single pool round robin event. The teams were: 'GTA', 'Kapampangan Toronto', 'Ottawa Keren Youth', 'Mississauga', 'Thunder Bay', and Saskatchewan Thunder'. Results were determined from the round robin play, so there were no final playoff matches. Most of the matches were very competative, with several needing a third tie-break set to determine the winner. This included the match between Saskatchewan Thunder and Mississauga, that ended with a 3rd set win of 25-24 for Mississauga. The loss for Saskatchewan Thunder bumped them down to 4th place. Ottawa Karen Youth earned the Bronze Medal after also losing to Mississagua. Another 'nail-biter' match going to three sets was then the one between undefeated Thunder Bay and Mississauga. In the end, Thunder Bay came away with Gold, and Mississauga had to settle for Silver. Congratulations to the GTA organizing committee for hosting a very competative and successful tournament!
